Spotlight on Solutions - VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco

VE Geo Loc Made by Rubisco is a natural fibre geotextile range engineered from New Zealand grown hemp and strong wool, produced as a needle punched nonwoven with no synthetic inputs.

VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco incorporates either a 100% wool composition or a blend of hemp and wool fibres, engineered to complement each other’s strengths.

100% Wool Geotextile – 100% wool suited to soils and horticulture, with strong water absorption capacity.

Hemp & Wool Blend Geotextile – A wool and hemp blend offering higher strength and greater longevity due to lignocellulosic fibre contributions.

Vital Chemical is proud to be the exclusive Australian supplier of VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco, a New Zealand grown and manufactured non woven needle punched geotextile.

On Location

📍 Project Region – New Zealand

🏗️ Site Type – Civil construction

📏 Project Scale – 67,000sqm

💨 Scope of Works – Weed suppression

The Wool and Hemp Blend Geotextile was used to support the planting of 204,000 native shrubs and trees across wetlands and swales. The 100% natural, fully compostable material retains moisture, is stronger than wool‑only fabric and does not shrink, removing the need for herbicides.

Its weed control and site rehabilitation capabilities present strong potential, and as an alternative to bidim cloth, it eliminates double handling and reduces waste to landfill by biodegrading on site.
