The partnership will see Vital Chemical market and distribute the VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco range across Australia, offering both a hemp and wool blend and a 100 percent wool option for use in erosion control, sediment management and weed suppression applications.
Designed for civil infrastructure, landscaping, construction and environmental rehabilitation projects, VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco provides a natural fibre alternative to conventional synthetic geotextiles.
The product is manufactured as a non-woven, needle-punched mat using South Island grown industrial hemp and New Zealand strong wool, with no plastics or synthetic polymers at any stage of production.
Vital Chemical Director Paul McMullen said the partnership reflects the company’s focus on identifying innovative, lower-impact technologies that deliver practical performance on site.
“Our focus has always been on identifying proven technologies globally and making them accessible to the Australian market. VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco provides a compelling natural alternative to traditional synthetic geotextiles, and through Vital’s distribution network we are well positioned to support adoption across construction, landscaping and environmental restoration projects nationwide.”
Rubisco brings more than 50 years of experience in wool fibre processing and manufacturing and has expanded into industrial hemp fibre systems in recent years.
Operating across Christchurch and Ashburton in New Zealand, Rubisco has developed a vertically integrated natural fibre platform spanning fibre cultivation, processing and advanced materials manufacturing.
The VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco system carries a Global GreenTag Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and has a functional lifespan of approximately 18 to 24 months, providing stability during vegetation establishment before naturally biodegrading and returning organic matter to the soil.
Vital Chemical is proud to be the exclusive Australian supplier of VE Geo-Loc Made by Rubisco, supporting the growing demand for natural, lower-impact materials in infrastructure and environmental management projects.
