Vital Joins Changemakers Driving Australia Towards a Circular Clothing Economy

The Vital Chemical team proudly attended Seamless Impact 2025 in Melbourne this week, where a range of changemakers gathered to accelerate Australia’s shift to a circular clothing economy.

As a Seamless Supporter, Vital works alongside other responsible industry leaders to address the challenge of clothing waste. More than 220,000 tonnes of textiles go to landfill in Australia every year. By joining this stewardship scheme, we strengthen our commitment to practical, science-based solutions that reduce this impact.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration over competition. Industry, government, and community must work together to develop scalable solutions that keep textiles out of landfill. A key announcement was the launch of the Seamless Circular Clothing Textile Fund, which will drive innovation and speed up the transition to sustainable fashion. This reinforced the role of circular innovation and chemical technologies at Vital in supporting this change.

Vital also sponsored the event as a Regenerative Sponsor. We created a floral installation and a flower wrapping station so attendees could take home native blooms and extend their life well beyond the conference.

We thank the inspiring speakers who shared their vision for a circular future, including Seamless CEO Ainsley Simpson, Prof. Dr. Jacqueline Cramer, and Pip Kiernan GAICD from Clean Up Australia Ltd.

Vital Chemical looks forward to continuing our work with Seamless and its members to deliver meaningful change for our environment and our communities.
