Vital Chemical Takes Its Environmental Solutions To The United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Queensland-based environmental solutions provider Vital Chemical has taken the next step on its international expansion strategy with a growing presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to help support the construction of the “new green Emirates”.

The UAE’s construction sector has been experiencing rapid expansion in recent years. It remains a key component of the nation’s diversification strategy, contributing significantly to GDP growth, supported by major infrastructure, tourism, and sustainability initiatives.

Vital Chemical Director Paul McMullen and Chief Operating Officer Ben Hough recently attended a Trade & Investment Queensland (TIQ) mission to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to explore opportunities in sustainable construction, infrastructure, and land‑rehabilitation projects.

Vital Chemical leads the way in developing and delivering science-based chemical solutions that restore, protect, and enhance the environment. The company’s erosion control, dust suppression, revegetation and water treatment products are engineered to meet the highest environmental standards, which ensures compliance, performance, and long-term sustainability for industries across construction, mining, and infrastructure.

Vital’s expansion into the UAE is underpinned by the Gulf state’s embrace of a carbon-conscious path in the construction sector and the emphasis placed on resource efficiency, low‑carbon materials, and ecosystem restoration within new developments.

This emphasis aligns well with Vital Chemical’s green credentials: their VE Char‑Matt hydromulch and biochar-enhanced erosion control systems, for example, not only prevent soil loss but also rebuild soil carbon and reduce water use.

Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Darra, Queensland, Vital Chemical develops and manufactures Australian-made environmental solutions covering erosion and dust control, water treatment, revegetation, and soil stabilisation.

Their products support both remote and urban projects, including civil infrastructure and mining operations, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, renewable resource use, and quantified environmental outcomes.

As part of the expansion into the UAE, Vital Chemical is aiming to establish regional partnerships with engineering consultancies, landscape architects, and government entities to position their solutions in flagship projects like urban parklands, airport expansions, and desert‑land rehabilitation schemes.

The TIQ delegation supported this effort by facilitating introductions and showcasing Queensland’s expertise across sustainability, renewables, and land remediation sectors.

The UAE’s construction sector is projected to continue growing for a number of years with a strong appetite for green technologies. Vital Chemical’s durable, science-driven products will be critical to helping meet regional commitments to sustainable development and industrial innovation.

Vital Chemical’s move into the UAE illustrates the symbiotic relationship between Australian sustainable-tech firms and Gulf economies pivoting toward green construction.
